2021 WWTP Expansion & Improvements

Williams & Works provided survey, design, and construction engineering services for an expansion of the Village of Middleville's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The project will complete work that was begun in 2017 for a capacity expansion. Two concrete tanks will be constructed and fitted with sequencing batch reactor (SBR) equipment. Blowers and sludge pumps for the SBRs will be installed in the existing building. The existing sludge storage tank will be expanded to double the capacity and storage period. An outdoor drainage pad will also be constructed to dry out material from trucks and treat the wastewater from it before sending the dry material to the landfill.
The project was bid in March 2021 and the first phase is currently under construction.
