MSP Drive Track Resurfacing & Water System
Lansing, Michigan

Williams & Works worked with the DTMB starting in 2019 to make improvements to the Michigan State Police Drive Track. The project began with resurfacing of various driving surfaces around the facility including a skid pad. The work included making changes to the overall slopes of the services and providing construction engineering to verify correct installation according to the desires of the state.

Subsequently, Williams & Works designed a water system to uniformly wet the skid pad at the drive track. The system consists of a water supply well pumping between 150 and 250 gpm, a pump chamber with two pumps each producing 350 gpm at 27’ TDH with a variable speed capability and a control panel, a 6” diameter force main, a 4” spray bar with 3/16” openings set a concrete trench, and a water collection and storage system that consists of 470’ of 42” concrete pipe, one 8’ diameter pump chamber, two 6’ dia. CB, two 2’ dia. CB, and the necessary electrical, controls and mechanical work to put the system into operation.
