Williams & Works' survey group recently completed a extremely fast and highly accurate survey for Michigan State University (MSU) located in East Lansing, Michigan. This project entailed mapping the inside of Spartan Stadium and access tunnel for an upcoming concert by U2.
This project consisted of hydraulics survey for replacement of a box culvert under M-115 on the west side of the Village of Farwell. The survey included eleven hydraulics cross sections, plus profiles of M-115 and the railroad grade, and finish floor elevation of nearby buildings.
This project entailed mapping of a dam constructed in a partially man-made berm separating the delta of the Shiawassee River and its confluence with the Bad River. The site is located in the Shiawassee State Game Area about two miles downstream from St. Charles, Michigan.
This project consisted of road design survey and determination of legal alignment and Right of Way for about one half-mile of M-96, a two-lane state trunkline, plus another half-mile of intersecting county roads, near the city of Marshall in Calhoun County, Michigan.
In 2008, the West Michigan Trails & Greenways Coalition negotiated the purchase of a portion of Rail America’s right-of-way. As a part of this acquisition, Williams & Works was chosen to perform a number of boundary surveys and develop legal descriptions of the railroad right-of-way to be conveyed.
Michigan State University contracted Williams & Works to complete an as-built survey as part of their completed construction of Crescent and Middlevale Road located at the Southwest portion of the campus. Williams & Works was responsible for Phases 3, 4 and 5 of the project.
Williams & Works was retained by Leighton Township to prepare the South Shore Assessor’s Plat in Leighton Township in Allegan County, Michigan. Work included evaulating and plotting all legal descriptions of the parcels involved and an extensive field survey to recover and locate all of the existing property corners in the area.
Williams & Works was called upon to prepare drawings for the condominium’s master deed at Avastar Park Industrial Condominium in Grand Rapids, Michigan. With a single building of six hundred feet wide and nearly a quarter-mile long, converting this property to a condominium held some unique challenges.
Williams & Works has surveyed more than 4,000 telecommunication towers over a five-state area. These communication towers are used for 911 operations, digital television and cellular telephone services. Usually these towers are located on the ground, but rooftops, water towers and billboards have also been mapped.
